To Jinja!

Tuesday, May 10, 2011

We left Lira early on Tuesday. Our original plan was to leave on Monday and travel to Kampala on the western route around the lake. We were to stay in Kampala one night, then spend a few hours at Luzira Community Church, and travel onto Entebee. (I was to meet a friend in Kampala and travel to Jinja for a few days and fly home later in the week.) The political unrest and uncertain safety lead us to pray about which route to take and after a few days, we decided to spend all of Monday in Lira, then leave Lira by way of Soroti and on to Jinja where we would stop and shop for supplies for PATH Ministries, then go straight to Entebee and not stop in Kampala. The drive was beautiful and ranged from bush, to grassland, to mountains near Mbale. I loved getting to see more of Uganda, it is a stunning place. In Jinja, we stopped for a few hours to do our shopping for PATH and then the team went on to Entebee. I met my friends in Jinja and am now staying just outside, near Wairaka, until Sunday.

I cannot emphasize how gracious God has been in our travels. He has opened every door and provided the way in which we should go. He is so faithful!
